Boeing Sells 50 737 MAX Jets to IAG at Discount

International Consolidated Airlines Group said it has ordered 50 Boeing 737 MAX jets, with options for a further 100 aircraft at a substantial discount from the list price.

IAG (ticker: IAG.U.K.), which owns British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, and Vueling, said the order for 25 737-8200 and 25 737 MAX 10 jets will be delivered between 2023 and 2027 and can be used by any airline within the group for fleet replacement. The order includes options for another 100 planes, to be available between 2025 and 2028.

The B737-8200 list price is around $120 million and the B737-10 list price is $130 million, IAG said, adding that it negotiated a “substantial discount” from the list price.

Shares of Boeing (BA) fell 0.74% in premarket trading on Thursday. IAG stock fell 1.23% in early morning trading in London.

The order, which is subject to approval by IAG shareholders.
