Splunk named Gary Steele, long the top boss at Proofpoint, as its CEO and the successor to interim chief Graham Smith
Smith got the top job at Splunk (ticker: SPLK) on an interim basis following the 2021 resignation of former CEO Doug Merritt. At the time of the announcement, Merritt said in a statement that Splunk was focused on “identifying a leader with a proven track record of scaling operations and growing multi-billion dollar enterprises.”
