AbbVie and More Companies That Are Expected to Raise Their Dividends

IHS Markit expects Visa to raise its dividend by a bit more than 9%.

AbbVie , Visa , and West Pharmaceutical Services are among the companies expected to declare dividend increases next week, according to financial data firm IHS Markit .

The biopharmaceutical company AbbVie (ticker:ABBV) currently pays a quarterly disbursement of $1.30 a share. IHS Markit is projecting that it will be increased to $1.45 a share, up 11.5%.

The stock, which yields 4.8%, has returned about 6% this year through Wednesday, dividends included, compared with 22% for the S&P 500.

Speaking at an investing conference last month, AbbVie Chief Financial Officer Robert Michael said that “We can grow the dividend, as we’ve said in the past,” according to a transcript.

IHS Markit is looking for Visa (V) to declare a quarterly dividend of 35 cents a share, up a little more than 9%. The stock, which yields 0.6%, has returned about 6% year to date.

West Pharmaceutical Services (WST) is expected to raise its quarterly payout to 18 cents a share. That would be an increase of nearly 6% from 17 cents a share.

The company’s businesses include packaging, drug-delivery products, and lab services.

It’s a relatively new member of the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats, all of which have paid out a higher dividend for at least 25 straight years. The stock, which yields 0.2%, has returned about 47% this year.

Another company that IHS Markit predicts will boost its dividend this coming week is Amphenol (APH). The company’s markets include components for the broadband communications and information technology markets.

IHS Markit is looking for the company to declare a quarterly dividend of 16.5 cents a share, an increase of nearly 14% from 14.5 cents. The stock, which yields 0.7%, has returned about 21% this year.
