Spearmint kicks off drill program at Clayton Valley lithium project

The Clayton Valley lithium prospects are comprised of two separate claim blocks known as the Elon property and the McGee property

“This deposit is one of the select few clay deposits that exist in Nevada of which Tesla has publicly stated they covet,” James Nelson, Spearmint’s president, said in the media brief.  “There have been a lot of discussions recently regarding Tesla and what Elon Musk said about wanting to acquire Nevada lithium clay projects at the Tesla Battery Day held September 22, 2020, and their overwhelming need to secure domestic lithium deposits to feed their Gigafactory.”

The Clayton Valley lithium prospects are comprised of two separate claim blocks known as the Elon property and the McGee property which cover an aggregate area of 1,160 acres. The two blocks border Pure Energy Minerals’ Clayton Valley project and Cypress Development Corp’s property.

According to Spearmint, historic and recent drill programs in adjacent and nearby properties are suggestive of the potential for the discovery of lithium-bearing brines.
