Porter Airlines has extended its hiatus from operations until Nov. 12, almost eight months after flights were first grounded because of the coronavirus.

The Canadian airline said Tuesday that it decided to push its restart date from Oct. 7 until November because mandatory quarantines for people entering Canada are still in force and the Canada-U.S. border and Atlantic Canada travel bubble remain closed.

“Every one of our markets is affected by the Canadian government’s non-essential travel advisory and border closures,” said Michael Deluce, president and CEO, Porter Airlines.

The airline is waiving change and cancellation feeds on all fares book through Nov. 12, including Porter Escapes vacation packages.

Porter temporarily suspended operations as of March 21, due to COVID-19.
