Texas Roadhouse Inc. TXRH, -1.07% said Friday that the restaurant chain’s founder and chief executive, Kent Taylor, died on March 18. Jerry Morgan, the company’s president, has been named CEO, effective immediately, in keeping with the company’s succession plan. Morgan has been with the company for 23 years and has been president since 2020. Texas Roadhouse shares are up 20.3% over the last three months, and have soared 177.2% over the last year. The benchmark S&P 500 index SPX, -1.48% is up 62.5% for the past 12 months.
